Actually, creating our rose garden took us quite some time and was also associated with some failures, of course. The Umbrian sun obviously works well against some kinds of infestations common in roses, like mildew. But in some hot and dry summers many plants had to suffer a lot.

Most of our roses have been purchased in our favorite nursery at Camucia-Cortona at "Felice Felici". The owner is called  "Mr. Happy Happy" and his name is his motto.
But we have also brought some roses from our travels. We are especially proud of a yellow David-Austin rose from Southern England.  Astonishingly it  is flourishing well even without the damp-cold weather and without a sea breeze.

Therefore in the coming years we hope to welcome  more successful "immigrants" from other places !
