Tango with Martha Giorgi and Natascha "Natu" Striewski
The key to your personal tango
In a world in which awareness of one's own body and one's own being is becoming more and more important, we see it as our task to integrate this mindfulness into tango.
A conscious connection to our own body is the key to being authentic and deeply connected in tango - and in life.
That's why we place great emphasis on improving tango from different perspectives: by working on ourselves, by refining communication with our dance partner, by being aware of our entire environment and by gaining a deeper understanding of the music.
Our lessons are structured to support this holistic approach.
- We begin with exercises on body awareness, thereby strengthening our awareness of our own bodies.
- Building on this, we deepen your individual technique and help you to recognize the many small movement puzzle pieces in tango and put them together correctly, which significantly improves your dance.
- Through selected partner exercises, we promote your connection and communication in dance.
- Of course, we also devote ourselves to musicality. This way, you understand the different levels of music - from the classical sounds of Di Sarli to the modern compositions of Piazzolla, and can interpret them in your own way.
- In this way, we create a space in which everyone can develop further in tango - not only technically, but also emotionally and mentally.
Tango without limits
About Martha and Natu
Martha discovered her passion for dancing at the tender age of 9. She attended a ballet school where she learned the elegance and discipline of classical dance.
But the strict structure was giving her trouble - she longed for more freedom and expression.
After graduating from school, she started working in various dance companies and broadened her horizons by traveling the world to discover different dance styles.
At the age of 21, she finally encountered tango and this dance was to change her life forever.
The passion that tango sparked in her never left her. Her journey took her to Peru, Vienna and finally to Munich, where she met the father of her children and settled down.
After a short break in which she devoted herself entirely to loving and caring for her children, Martha founded the dance school "Tango Connection" in 2000.
Since then, she has enriched the Munich tango scene with her extensive knowledge of all aspects of Argentine tango, organized eight international festivals and brought an impressive number of artists, especially from Buenos Aires, to Munich.
Martha's daughter Natu was born in 1994.
Before she could even walk, she did her first "ocho".
Tango was an integral part of her life from the very beginning - even if she wanted a bottle of milk, she had to show a few tango steps first!
This deep-rooted connection to tango was also shaped by her grandmother, who played tango on the piano and accordion when Natu was still in her mother's womb.
For some years Natu took a conscious break from tango and studied psychology in Argentina.
Today, she has made it her mission to combine these two worlds and to incorporate the knowledge gained from her psychology studies into her teaching.
In 2019, mother and daughter took part in the Tango World Championship together and have been an unbeatable tango team ever since.
Martha and Natu are looking forward to meeting you in Rogaia and sharing their passion for tango with you.
